Apple Acknowledges Brit Man As Inventor of The iPod
Kane Kramer, a 52-year old briton, was recognized by Apple as the inventor of technology behind the iPod. Apple acknowledged him as the father of iPod in a court case where Kramer gave evidence in its defence during a legal wrangle with Burst.com, which claims that it has the patent of iPodd technology and deserves a cut from Apple’s £89 billion profits. The legal dispute has been settled confidentially out of court.
Kane Kramer designed the technology behind the iPod in 1979 and he patented it. The player he build was named IXI and it was capable of storing 3,5 minutes of music on a memory chip.
In 1989, Kramer lost the patent because he didn’t have enough money to renew it.
